Nearly 400 producers, partners and experts gathered on September 8 and 18 for Uniag Cooperative’s Field of Expertise Days, held respectively at Splendron Farms in Vankleek Hill (Ontario) and at the Uniag Grain Centre in Napierville (Quebec).
Two days in the field, rain or shine, to exchange ideas, see demonstrations and advance know-how, yields… and the network. Innovation, performance and a friendly atmosphere were on the agenda, as promised.
“It’s always inspiring to see so many producers come together to share and think through best practices. Ontario and Quebec form a dynamic agricultural base, and Uniag will continue to invest to maintain a strong presence close to the field,” says Sylvain Boyer, General Manager of Uniag Cooperative.
Two events, one spirit
On September 8, Splendron Farms welcomed producers from Eastern Ontario. On the program: maximizing corn yield with Stéphane Larose (Maizex), a grain market update with Nathalie Maurice, a presentation of the custom spreading service with the Amazone spreader, and a drone seeding demonstration in corn. The day wrapped up with a complimentary méchoui.
On September 18, the Napierville Grain Centre took over for Quebec. Pascal Larose (Maizex) opened the day with an agronomic presentation on current issues, Claude Dubuc, Uniag Grain Marketing Director, provided a market overview, and Stéphanie Mathieu, agronomist with MAPAQ, presented the success factors for winter wheat, from seeding to harvest. Once again, the méchoui kept the conversations going in a festive atmosphere.
With nearly 400 participants in total across both days, Uniag confirms these events as the largest annual gathering for the crop sector in its territory.
Knowledge that grows, a network that gets stronger
These Field of Expertise Days reflect what Uniag aims for every day: putting expertise within producers’ reach, right in the field, and creating opportunities to meet. Ideas take root, knowledge is shared, and top operators connect on both sides of the border.
