It is with a mixed feeling of sadness and pride that Uniag Cooperative wishes to share the announcement of the appointment of its General Manager, Mr. Jean-Sébastien Leblanc, to the position of General Manager of the agricultural division of Agiska Cooperative as well as of Sollio & Agiska Cooperative agriculture.

Mr. Leblanc has been with the cooperative as General Manager since July 2018 and more recently General Manager of Sollio & Uniag Agriculture cooperative since November 2021. He will join the ranks of Agiska Cooperative and Sollio & Agiska Cooperative agriculture, a neighboring agricultural cooperative to ours covering part of the Montérégie, Centre-du-Québec and Estrie, as of July 11.

“Although this change represents a great loss for our cooperative, we are delighted with this great opportunity that has arisen for him. Mr. Leblanc is known for his strategic vision, his commitment to the cooperative model and his great interest in the success of agricultural producers, so it is no surprise that he was selected for the position,” says Sylvain Brault, President of Uniag Cooperative and Sollio & Uniag Cooperative agriculture. “We warmly thank Mr. Leblanc for his dedication, his professionalism, his loyalty and his overall contribution to the growth of our organization. We are extremely grateful for all the work he has done during his successful career with us. On behalf of the boards of directors of Uniag Cooperative and Sollio & Uniag Cooperative agriculture, as well as the entire team, we wish Mr. Leblanc the best of continuity and success in his new position.”

“My career at Uniag Cooperative has been very exciting. During the last four years, I have had the pleasure of actively contributing to the development of the cooperative and seeing the entire team evolve, which will always remain a great source of pride for me. I have full confidence in the management team in place and rest assured that everything will be done until my departure to minimize the impact. Although the challenges remain, I am leaving Uniag with a sense of accomplishment,” says Jean-Sébastien Leblanc. “I am very enthusiastic about the new challenges that await me at Agiska.”

A bright future

When asked about the cooperative’s future, Mr. Sylvain Brault is very definite: “Uniag has experienced impressive growth since the merger of the cooperatives in 2016. As demonstrated by its annual report presented at the General Assembly on March 29, the cooperative is in an excellent financial position, and benefits from a good reputation. The recent establishment of the regional partnership with Sollio Agriculture only strengthens our presence in the market. Moreover, some very nice projects will be announced soon. We are very confident that we will attract high-level resources to continue the rise of our great organization.”
