Uniag Cooperative is proud to announce that it is becoming the majority shareholder of BMR Cornwall, in partnership with Mr. Roy Perkins, the current owner, and his daughter, Ms. Angela Perkins-Bellefeuille, both of whom will remain fully involved in the store’s operations.
This alliance represents far more than a transaction; it was born from a genuine mutual connection. From the very first meetings, the teams at Uniag and BMR Cornwall quickly recognized a strong alignment in their vision, values, and customer service approach. The partnership therefore developed naturally, in a spirit of respect, trust, and collaboration.
A Collaboration Rooted in the Community
This new chapter brings together two organizations deeply rooted in their communities, united by a shared commitment to offering quality products, personalized service, and a customer experience built on trust and proximity.
“From our very first discussions, it was clear that we shared the same business philosophy and the same commitment to our communities. We are very pleased to join forces with Roy, Angela, and the entire Cornwall team,” said Sylvain Boyer, General Manager of Uniag Cooperative.
The partnership was celebrated during a friendly 5 à 7 gathering that brought together BMR Cornwall employees and several Uniag representatives, officially marking the beginning of this new collaboration.
Strengthening the Agricultural Offering in Ontario
With this acquisition, Uniag plans to progressively enhance BMR Cornwall’s offering through the integration of:
-
Agrizone products, the agricultural banner of the BMR network;
-
livestock feed products;
-
the Agrizone Mobile service, providing direct delivery of agricultural products to farms across Eastern Ontario.
Producers in the region will benefit from an expanded offering that combines local expertise with the strength of a well-established cooperative network operating in both Quebec and Ontario.
A Partnership Focused on the Future
For Roy Perkins, this new milestone reflects a long-term growth vision:
“It is reassuring to partner with an organization that understands the importance of human relationships and local development. We are proud to continue this journey together.”
The BMR Cornwall team will remain in place, and operations will continue as usual while gradually expanding the store’s product offering.
