Uniag Cooperative is delighted to have brought together members, employees and partners for the 2024 Holiday Lunches, an annual tradition of conviviality, recognition and solidarity. These warm gatherings were an opportunity to celebrate our collective achievements while strengthening the ties that bind the cooperative community together.
Three unique festive events
The festivities took place in three separate locations, each offering a unique and warm experience.
December 10 in a greenhouse owned by Maraîcher J.P.L. Guérin & Fils inc (Sherrington, Qc) – Around 120 guests gathered in one of the many greenhouses owned by the Guérin family in Sherrington, who have been loyal cooperators for many years. As well as a meal served by the Le Gras Dur street truck, there was popcorn, warm wine and a chocolate contest. Participants also had the chance to taste Don Miguel Coffee, imported by a producer who is a member of the cooperative.
December 11 in the new Terryland Farms barn (St-Eugène, Ontario) – The open house event brought together nearly 200 members, partners and employees of the cooperative, all curious to discover the modern barn, freshly fitted out with a free-stall herd and a top-of-the-range robotized milking system.
December 13 at the Ormstown Curling Centre (Ormstown, QC) – 70 participants had the opportunity to learn or perfect their curling techniques in a friendly, sporting atmosphere. After the effort, a comforting meal of chilli was served to round off the day in style. On this occasion, Uniag Coopérative was pleased to present a cheque for $500 to the Ormstown Curling Club, in support of their efforts to promote the sport in the region.
Sincere thanks
Hugo Landry, President of the cooperative, and Sylvain Boyer, General Manager, praised the enthusiastic participation of the guests, the exceptional hospitality of the hosts and the outstanding contribution of the partners: Farm Credit Canada and Desjardins Entreprises. ‘These gatherings are essential for strengthening our ties, celebrating our collective successes and bringing the year to a happy close. Thank you all for your presence, your warm welcome and your commitment to our cooperative.
Celebrating the strength of the collective
The 2024 Holiday Lunches once again illustrate the strength of the Uniag Cooperative community and the importance of these shared moments, which reflect the cooperative spirit and solidarity and help break the social isolation of the agricultural community.
Uniag Cooperative would like to take this opportunity to wish its members, employees and partners a very happy holiday season and a successful, collaborative and prosperous 2025.
