On March 21st, Uniag Cooperative gathered its members for its Annual General Meeting at the Bonnie Glen Pavilion in Alexandria. This flagship event provided an opportunity to review the year’s achievements, highlight the investments made, and reaffirm our commitment to agricultural producers.
A Year Marked by Growth and Strategic Investments
With a revenue of $221 million for the fiscal year ending October 31, 2024, Uniag Cooperative demonstrates strong financial performance, supported by strategic investments. The acquisition of the Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague convenience store building and improvements to the Napierville fertilizer center reflect our commitment to optimizing our infrastructure to better meet the needs of producers.
«Uniag’s financial strength enables us to invest in essential infrastructure and offer effective solutions to our members. We are building a strong cooperative network, capable of adapting to the challenges of the agricultural industry.»
– Sylvain Boyer, General Manager of Uniag Cooperative
A Concrete Commitment to Our Members
During the meeting, members voted for a patronage dividend of $1.45 million, bringing the total amount redistributed over the past eight years to $19.5 million. Additionally, $1.1 million will be paid to 648 members for the reimbursement of preferred shares from 2018 and 2019.
«Profit sharing is at the heart of our cooperative model. Thanks to careful management and the trust of our producers, we are giving back to our members while continuing our development.»
– Hugo Landry, President of Uniag Cooperative
Supporting the Next Generation and Valuing Our Members
The AGM also provided an opportunity to recognize the involvement and achievements of producers and employees who have distinguished themselves within the network. We further reinforced our commitment to agricultural succession by distributing more than $43,000 to six young beneficiaries of the Agricultural Succession Support Fund.
A Promising Future
With the re-election of Daniel Guérin, Jean Bissonnette, Jean-Pierre Lavigne, and Éric Gratton, our Board of Directors continues its work to guide Uniag Cooperative towards new opportunities.
The event concluded in a friendly atmosphere, once again emphasizing the importance of exchange and collaboration within our cooperative.
We thank all our members for their engagement and trust. Together, we continue to build a strong and sustainable cooperative agriculture.
